Wood Family

I first met Annie on a trip I took to New Zealand when I was 18 years old. She was one of our Kiwi hosts as our group traveled through both islands. I really got to know Annie in the three weeks I was there. We connected again when she moved to the states a few years later. I have always admired her sweet ambiance and nature. I was thrilled when I got the opportunity to photographer her and Andrews wedding... And now that their little family has grown, I was overjoyed to photograph them again.

The occasion for the event was the recent birth of their son, Lucas. So happy for you guys! Congratulations!

We were schedule to photograph on Sunday morning... but, at Annie's sister Sarah's Wedding, I stole the family for a short bit to take advantage of the late afternoon light and beautiful field.

They have a cute craftsman style house in Springfield. You should see the beautiful backyard! When you head to the back you feel like you're in a private abode in the middle of the city.  Addison, their oldest daughter, gave me the tour as Annie was preparing Lucas for his first photo session. She is such a sweet bundle of joy. Anthony & Sarah {Wedding}

When Sarah messaged me and asked if I would be her wedding photographer, I was thrilled. I had taken Sarah's Sister, Annie's, Wedding photos three years ago, and I find it absolutely flattering to receive a request for a second wedding from a family. Especially this one :) The Scroggins family has four daughters and one son. All four girls are adorable and have great style. I knew Sarah's wedding would be full of fun stylish surprises...and I was right!

The wedding was held in Walterville Oregon, just outside of Springfield. My family is from the area and I was excited to head down for the weekend from Seattle, for this beautiful country wedding. The old building where the wedding was held, holds the most amazing hidden room behind the stage. The room had beautiful window light with whimsical lace curtains, and worn wood panels. I was able to get some gorgeous shots of her putting on her dress here.seattle wedding photographerSeattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding PhotographerI absolutely adore the above photograph of Sarah! She looks so glamorous with her birdcage veil and pearls. Notice her pink lipstick! Oh how I love this small but sweet detail. All of her bridesmaids wore the fun lipstick as well.

Within a mile of the wedding location were three great locations for photographs. Having different locations, or looks for the photo sessions makes the day more fun and the pictures abundant with variety. For the bride and grooms first meeting, we headed to the orchard across the street. The sunlight falling through the spring leaves made for a wonderful setting. The color these fresh bloomed leaves gives is more of a vibrant lime green, and I do love lime green :)Seattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding Photographer

If you don't know this about me, you should... I love TREES. I love them for their color, texture, shade, shape, sheer magnitude, and most of all the beauty they bring to any picture :)

We will get to it soon. Here are some detail shots from the wedding. Sarah has created a feel for the wedding that fits with the location and style. Seattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding photographerSeattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding PhotographerSeattle Wedding PhotographyIt is always beautiful to see a couple come together in marriage. The ceremony often gets overlooked in the pictures department, but it is one of my favorite portions. Capturing the life, love and emotion is always exciting.
